Over the years, Directors Cody Beaver and Brian Bolan have worked with youth and adult individuals through Purgatory Ride School at Durango Mountain Resort, as well as Hesperus Ski Resort Instructional programs.

Co-Founder Purgatory Snowboard Team Head Coach and Director: Brian Bolan Hometown: Longmont, Colorado DOB: Years Snowboarding: Since 1994 Years Teaching/Coaching: Since 2007 Certifications: USASA/USSA Certified Snowboard Coach – 2010I became an avid recreational snowboarder in 1994, involving myself in snowboarding at a young age, while the sport itself was still developing, created an unmatched appreciation for snowboarding that I wish to share with those around me. Over the years I’ve become an instructor for the Purgatory Ski and Ride School at Durango Mountain Resort; I’ve joined USASA/USSA as a certified coach; and with the help of Asst. Program Director and Coach Cody Beaver created the Purgatory Snowboard Team.Accomplishments: Earned a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. Become an active member of the Durango community. And taught hundreds of kids, and adults how to make clean turns, fly off jumps, or just plain go fast. Hobbies: Long boarding, motorcycle riding, hiking, camping, anything that gets my adrenaline flowing, and I also enjoy practicing all forms of art.

I have been riding for 17 years now and I am looking forward to passing my love for this sport on to you. I have been an instructor at Purgatory for about 7 years now and have my PSIA cert 1. In the past year with the new team developing I have also added a USASA coaches certification. I look forward to the upcoming year and meeting all the new faces. |
