Quad Team Awards Banquet this Sunday

Please join us to celebrate the four teams of the Durango Winter Sports Foundation! We’ll commemorate the athletes and season together with food and fun!

Who: The Families of the Alpine, Freestyle, Nordic and Snowboard Teams
Where: Ska Brewing – 225 Girard
When: Sunday, April 29 at 4 p.m.
Why: Award Celebrations, Serious Texas BBQ & Ska Beer Specials
How much: $5 for adults and FREE for kids!

Please RSVP to your head coach by Wednesday, April 25. Thank you!

Please note: The Brewery is closed to make this a special function enjoyable for our families and Ska is a beautiful river trail bike ride away.

Chapman Hill Winter Party this Friday, Feb 17

The Durango Winter Sports Foundation hosts a winter party this Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the base of Chapman Hill. You are invited to enjoy a USSA Freestyle Devo slopestyle competition, the local town race series, great food and family fun. The event kicks off four days of freestyle competitions at Chapman Hill featuring the best freestyle skiers in the USSA Rocky Mountain Division. The Durango Orthopedics/Spine Colorado SW Freestyle Open on February 17-20, 2012 will feature the top mogul skiers and aerialists in Colorado. The mogul skiing action measures over 200 meters of steep fall line skiing with a huge air on the bottom and will take place 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday with dual moguls taking place on Sunday. Monday will feature a big air contest and all are welcome to enjoy the show!

things as individuals and as competitors on one of our four teams, Nordic cross
country, alpine racing, snowboard or freestyle skiing. We also support local
ski and snowboard competitions and you are invited to participate in many of
these great local events!

Chapman Hill Town Race Series!

The Purgatory Alpine Ski Team welcomes local kids and adults to join the “Chapman Hill Town Race Series.” This exciting team ski racing series is open to the public and runs for four weeks on Friday nights from Feb 17 – March 2 at our in-town ski hill. There will be a combination of SL, GS and
Kombi formats on teams with 4-6 racers. Registrations are still welcome! Register online at www.purgatoryskiteam.org or join a team at the event. The cost for an Adult team is $325 and for youth is $150. If there are further questions, contact Leah LeSage at 946-3515 or alpine@purgatoryskiteam.org.

The Durango Winter Sports Foundation Spaghetti Dinner is on February 3 and we’d love to feature you – our local kids doing great things!

We are looking for *current* photos of the four ski and snowboard teams of Durango for a DWSF slideshow and we need your help! Please send photos as soon as possible to Blake Ward, alpine PST Board Member and volunteer, at blake@ward-family.org.

Remember we also need your help volunteering at the DWSF SnowDown Spaghetti Dinner. This super fun event is a great way for the community to see the kids and families from each of the four teams.
