2012/2013 Season

This program is designed for those accomplished skiers who would like to learn Freeride and Big Mountain techniques, including advanced technical skiing skills in a variety of terrains and conditions, tree-skiing, park and pipe techniques including air and tricks, line selection, snow conditions, safety and avalanche training.  Training will utilize Durango Mountain Resort, Silverton Mountain and Wolfe Creek as determined by schedule and availability.  An application and coach recommendation will be required before admittance to this program.

This is to teach those accomplished athletes Freeride and Big Mountain techniques, utilizing our local terrain.  This team is intended for those athletes with a race background who would like to continue racing but also develop skills on Big Mountain terrain.  It allows for race training to continue, development of strong “off piste” skills and competition in both areas if desired.

This program will consist of the following training sessions:

On Snow Training (DMR/Wolf Creek/Silverton)(Dec 8th – Mar, 2013):
All day Saturday and Sunday 9am – 3pm

Saturdays will be training with Big Mountain Team
Sunday will be race training and video at DMR

On Snow Training (Chapman)(Jan – Mar, 2013):
Wednesday 6:00 – 7:45 pm
- Slalom training

 

Dryland Training (Oct 8th – Nov 19th, 2012):
A blend of trampoline, gymnastics, core strengthening.
Monday (Session 1) 4:00 – 5:00 pm, Stillwater Foundation. Map
Monday (Session 2) 5:00 – 6:00 pm, Stillwater Foundation. Map

NOTE:  Participation in this Program is with Head Coach approval ONLY!

  • Application & Coach recommendation will be required for acceptance.
  • Lift Tickets will be required at Wolf Creek($15/20 and Silverton $25 per day)

2012/2013 Tuition: $900
2012/2013 Work Deposit $150 (refundable)
2012/2013 Dryland Training $75
2012/2013 Travel Fees: $75/day
